This charming, converted town house is one of our pick of the bunch while staying in the Valpariaso. Set high up on the hillside, the Zero Hotel is ideally located for wandering around the multi coloured streets or simply relaxing by the terraced pool and lounging area that look magnificently out to the bay and the Pacific beyond. Being a converted house, it is true that the rooms are a little more “rustic” than in other, more recent properties, but this only adds to its appeal!

The appeal of Valparaiso never fades in our book and, if you are considering visiting it is really worth spending a night or two to wander up and down the steep hills and through colourful houses. The Zero Hotel is the perfect place from which to base your expeditions.

Set in one of the more colourful (in more senses than just the decorative!) regions of the city, a mere ston’es throw from a couple of the areas best restaurants, the hotel really caters to any sort of mood. Of you are simply wanting to relax for the morning before wandering out in the afternoon then there is nothing better than grabbing a book and reading down by the pool with that staggering view.

The Zero Hotel, due to its historical nature, features a range of different rooms types, all with high ceilings and views, from which to choose. On the whole there isn’t really a “bad” room as such, although the smallest rooms are verging on the small…but, for the money, they are still very worthwhile.

On the whole, next to the nearby Casa Higueras, the Zero Hotel is certainly our pick of the hotels in Valparaiso.

Stunning views, great service, historical building

Rooms can be a tad small at times
